Jiu Jitsu

From Jiu-Jitsu Wikibase

Jiu-jitsu (or jujutsu, "the gentle art") is a Japanese martial art and self-defense system that emphasizes using an opponent's strength against them through leverage, joint locks, and chokes, rather than relying solely on brute strength or striking. It originated with the samurai in feudal Japan for close-quarters combat when disarmed.

The most popular modern variation is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), which focuses heavily on grappling and ground fighting. BJJ became popular globally due to its proven effectiveness in self-defense and mixed martial arts (MMA) competitions.
